I can’t stop finding these incredible artists.
I can’t stop finding these incredible artists.
On a whim, I searched for “watercolors” in the Google+ Communities page and found the Watercolors group. I was blown away by some of the personal work that people are posting there, as well as links to stuff off-site. Watercolors continually amaze me in how diverse the results of the medium can be.
I really like his landscape paintings–bold colors with a wide value range. He’s also made some process videos that are informative to watch.
Carrie Waller paints realistic watercolors. I haven’t really paid much attention to realism in watercolors, but something about her stuff changed my mind. The fact that she’s raising a family during the day, teaching workshops, frequently moving due to her husband being in the military and finding time to paint at night is a testament to her dedication. What’s my excuse?
Beautiful stuff.
Several videos of Neil Gaiman answering interview questions.
“Conor Friedersdorf’s annual collection of the very best that journalism has to offer.”
James Ronsome draws and paints the cover of a children’s book.
Video-based lessons on Django.
A webcomic created by Mark Siegel. I found out about it after seeing this fan art by Jake Wyatt in Spectrum 19. Fan of both.
Another talented watercolor artist. His blog should have way more comments than it does. The shadows on this piece are so good.
Sketchbooks of artists.
A new book on Django best practices.
These are amazing.
Nice composition overview and some links to check out.
From the about page: “Undercover Robot’s job is to infiltrate the vast network of art and artists across the planet, and bring you back useful information.”
A series of Django video tutorials.
Goes through the official Django tutorial using a TDD approach.
