I really like his landscape paintings–bold colors with a wide value range. He’s also made some process videos that are informative to watch.
Carrie Waller paints realistic watercolors. I haven’t really paid much attention to realism in watercolors, but something about her stuff changed my mind. The fact that she’s raising a family during the day, teaching workshops, frequently moving due to her husband being in the military and finding time to paint at night is a testament to her dedication. What’s my excuse?

Amazing stuff. I just went back and looked at these a week later and they’re better than I remembered. 4 weeks later, and I still love these. I’ve been exploring lots of watercolor artists lately and am amazed at how different they can be in competent hands. Richards is still one of my favorites. His “coupons” are something I keep revisiting.
