Print any of those photos out and staple them somewhere you can see every day. Simple lines (using a brush pen I’m guessing) in black and white that convey a sense of place and atmosphere , captured beautifully. You just need ink, paper, and mastery.
James Gurney shows off a beautiful painting he made using casein and talks up the medium a bit. He also mentions 2 illustrator that use it: John Berkey and Harry Anderson. I immediately fell in love with the work of both.
I just started reading one of the Gotham Central books and couldn’t put it down. They’re almost hard to read because I fight between moving forward in the story and staring at Michael Lark’s artwork.
